Greenville, SC— WYFF 4 welcomes Marc Whiteman to the news team as WYFF News 4 ports Director. Whiteman will join Carol Clarke and Michael Cogdill on the anchor desk weeknights at 6 and 11 p.m. He will also anchor high school football coverage every week this fall at 11 p.m. on Friday Night Hits.

Marc Whiteman

Whiteman comes to WYFF 4 from WATE in Knoxville, Tennessee where he served for nearly four years as weekend sports anchor and reporter.

“We’re excited to have Marc join our team as sports director,” commented WYFF 4 News Director, Bruce Barkley. “His experience covering major college and high school sports in East Tennessee make him perfect for this role. Marc, along with Julia Morris make a great team. They bring a passion and love of the game to every story they cover.”

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work at WYFF 4 and be part of this market-leading television station,” said Whiteman. “I fell in love with sports at an early age and enjoy meeting local athletes and telling their stories. I can’t wait to explore the many cultural events, outdoor activities and great restaurants this area has to offer.”

Current sports director Brad Fralick is leaving the role after 8 years. He will remain with WYFF 4, moving to the sales department to serve as an account executive.

“We want to thank Brad for doing an excellent job leading our sports team,” said WYFF 4 President and General Manager John Humphries. “In his time here, he produced award-winning sports specials and traveled around the country to cover the Clemson Tigers’ Road to the Title twice. We’re thrilled Brad is keeping his talents here at WYFF 4 in our sales department.”
