Regional Economic Development Organization Welcomes Office Manager, Research Specialist
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Upstate SC Alliance, a regional economic development organization whose mission is to position the 10-county Upstate region to succeed in the global economy, recently hired Mimi Thomas as Research Specialist and Melody Watson as Office Manager and Executive Administrator.
As Office Manager and Executive Administrator for the Upstate SC Alliance, Melody Watson manages office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. She supports the Alliance's finance and budgeting areas, manages vendor relationships and serves as the executive administrator to the President/CEO.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Melody was the Office Manager at Pendleton Place for Children and Families for 10 years. She also served as a Legal Secretary at Haynsworth, Sinkler, Boyd, P.A. for 17 years before entering the nonprofit field.
As Research Specialist, Mimi Thomas assists in the creation and maintenance of regional databases, the collection of statistical data and research, the compilation of requests and other support services.
A native of Clemson, Mimi is a graduate of The University of Alabama where she received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and German. Mimi also received her Master of Science in Geography from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
