The American Heart Association is proud to announce Chris Fincher as chair of the 2020 Upstate Heart Walk.
Fincher is the regional vice president for TD Bank where he leads an experienced team of commercial bankers in offices across the Upstate region. Fincher graduated from the College of William and Mary and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He and his wife Kathy, a registered dietician, have two sons who are students in the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
As chair of the Heart Walk, Fincher will oversee a volunteer team of Upstate business leaders as they work together to meet this year’s fundraising goal of $420,000.
“I am excited for the opportunity to support the American Heart Association in their efforts to improve the health of our community” said Fincher. “Events like the Heart Walk are a great way to raise awareness while honoring those who have been impacted by heart disease and stroke.”
Local businesses and community members and encouraged to participate in the Heart Walk by forming teams with their colleagues, families, and friends. All funds raised through the local campaign will help fund research and educational programs in South Carolina. The American Heart Association is currently funding over $2.5 million in research projects in South Carolina thanks in part to events like the Upstate Heart Walk. In addition to funding research and educational programs, funds raised through the Heart Walk will help further Upstate community initiatives focused on improving access to healthy foods, physical activity, primary care and mental health resources.
