Greenville, SOUTH CAROLINA (March 27, 2017) – The 2017 Meyer Award celebration was held on March 27 at the Loft at Soby’s recognizing Tom and Brenda Boone for their commitment to the Meyer Center for Special Children. They have been engaged with the organization for more than a decade but receive this special honor after donating significant funding to add an additional classroom. Thanks to their generosity, 10 more children will receive the education and life-changing therapies they need to reach their maximum potential.

“This is a game-changer for my son and our entire family,” said Amy Hibbs, Meyer Center Board Member and mother to a 7-year-old Meyer Center student. “Now instead of worrying about Caleb’s transition to a new school, he is going to be able to stay at the Meyer Center for another year to continue to receive the education, therapy, guidance and care he needs to grow developmentally.”

This is the third annual celebration having established the Meyer Award in 2014 as part of the organization’s 60th birthday. Past winners include Greg and Jill Schneider and Todd and Toni Jenkins.
