The Salvation Army of Greenville Receives Donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Salvation Army of Greenville has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed neighbors in their time of need. The Salvation Army of Greenville will use the gift to provide meals and food boxes to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

“We are so grateful to the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for their generous gift to our organization, which will directly benefit our neighbors in need this winter,” said Major Andrew Kelly, Area Commander of The Salvation Army in Greenville.


Among its many programs available to support Greenville’s disadvantaged population, The Salvation Army operates an emergency shelter for men, women and children for those without a safe place to rest. It also offers a food warehouse where those facing food insecurity can receive groceries at no cost.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $15 million in grants.
