The Creative Circus’ David Haan to speak at Endeavor’s Collaborators & Cocktails on January 23

Big ad agency veteran now leads one of the top portfolio schools in the country

Endeavor, a coworking space for creatives, agencies and corporate marketing teams in the heart of downtown, announces that David Haan, executive director of The Creative Circus, one of the nation’s top portfolio schools for marketing communications creative professionals, will speak at its next Collaborators & Cocktails speaker series on January 23, 2019.

“The Creative Circus is where commerce and creativity come together. It’s not an art school. It’s an idea school. Why? Because ideas have monetary value,” said Haan. The school, which is a proving ground for the ad industry, cultivates student talent in copywriting, art direction, design, photography, interactive development and design. Students develop concepts for full-scale branding, brand extensions, product development, interactive design and innovative technology applications. Boasting a 98 percent placement rate, The Creative Circus graduates are the most sought-after candidates for agencies and brands.

Haan’s career spanned 30 years working at major ad agencies before taking the helm of The Creative Circus six years ago. With that wealth of experience in mind, he will share perspectives that both industry novices and veterans alike can use to understand creativity’s value in today’s business climate, what other creative influencers see as the key challenges facing marketers in the year ahead, as well as what he considers topline creative work.

Before joining The Creative Circus, Haan worked with FCB, McCann Erickson and Earle Palmer Brown marketing brands such as Coors, Molson, Mazda, General Mills, Nestle, S.C. Johnson, Sunkist, Visa, Dreyer’s, Clorox and Zicam. He earned a Master’s in Advertising from Michigan State University and has taught Advertising Strategy and Campaigns courses there and at the University of Illinois.

Collaborators & Cocktails starts with networking at 5 p.m., with the presentation and Q&A session at 5:45 p.m. The event is free to all Endeavor members and corporate members, with a limited number of advance purchased guest tickets available for $30. Registration is required. No walk-ins are accepted. Contact for ticket information.
