23th Ben Wright International Challenge Cup
Upstate Companies Help Raise $370,000 to Feed Local Seniors
Spartanburg, S.C. – This year marked the 23th annual Ben Wright International Challenge Cup, the largest fundraiser for Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. The tournament raised $370,000 from our business community! The golfers played at The Carolina Country Club and The Country Club of Spartanburg.
Two hundred twenty-four golfers took to two Spartanburg golf courses on Friday, May 11, 2018. Golfers playing in the ICC are representatives from 100 various corporations; national and international corporations located in South Carolina, out-of-state and many with locations in other countries. By donating resources to Mobile Meals, corporations acknowledge they are willing to support their community and those in need of assistance.
“The Ben Wright International Challenge Cup continues to be the largest fund raiser for Mobile Meals of Spartanburg,” said Jayne McQueen, President and CEO of Mobile Meals. “Even in past times of economic hardship companies and the ICC Committee rallied around our ministry to make this event as successful. To-date more that 7 million dollars has been raised through participation in this tournament. Corporate leaders understand the value of giving back to people in need within our community.”
