Local Subway® Restaurant’s Day of Giving to Provide Resources for the Homeless
Greenville Subway restaurants providing subs and other resources to those in need at Rutherford Street Salvation Army.
WHAT: Local Subway® restaurants in the GSAA area are providing various resources to homeless and low-income individuals during their annual Day of Giving on September 16 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Salvation Army. The event, in partnership with the Salvation Army, aims to assist people in need with a free meal, haircut and provide resources for job opportunities and personal betterment classes.
The Salvation Army currently serves more than 430 meals each day and houses approximately 143 men, women and children per night in their shelters, while serving close to 31,000 annually.
Local Subway® restaurants aim to provide them with food for one meal in order to help the Salvation Army provide further support to other programs or to extend the availability of their food services.
WHO: Subway® and Salvation Army volunteers serving 200 sandwiches to those in need, volunteers providing haircuts, and volunteers from job services providing resources for employment opportunities.
