2017 Subaru Share the Love Event supports the homebound in Greenville County
Greenville, South Carolina (May 25, 2018) – Meals on Wheels of Greenville has received funds to provide over 870 meals for the homebound in Greenville County. The gift comes from Meals on Wheels America in partnership with Subaru of America as a result of the 2017 Subaru Share the Love Event. From November 16, 2017 to January 2, 2018, Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to a charity chosen by the customer, including Meals on Wheels, as a part of Share the Love.
“Providing nutrition and human interaction to the homebound individuals in our community is only possible because of the generous support of others,” said Amanda Osborne, Director of Development at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “This financial contribution to our mission will allow our team to continue providing hot meals and daily volunteer visits to those in need.”
For ten years, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have supported the mission of Meals on Wheels by funding community-based programs dedicated to fighting hunger and isolation. Since its inception, Subaru has helped to deliver nearly 2 million meals to America’s senior and homebound community.
