South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association Launches Labor Law Compliance Help Desk

The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) launched their Labor Law Compliance Help Desk today with assistance from national employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. The help desk provides quick answers to employment law questions, enabling its members to proactively assess risk when a challenging situation arises.

The SCRLA provides its members with 15 minutes of free labor and employment law consulting with attorneys licensed in South Carolina. Discounted rates are available to retain an attorney for additional services after an initial consultation.

“Part of running a restaurant or hotel means navigating red tape and regulations, and dealing with difficult employment issues,” said Douglas OFlaherty, Vice President of the SCRLA. “Whether members need help with wage and hour laws, have questions about employee discipline, employee benefits, medical leave and accommodations, harassment or anything else, the SCRLA is here to ensure members get the answers they need to be compliant.”

“Those in the hospitality industry are faced with frequently-changing legislative developments that impact the way they do business,” said Jackson Lewis Principal Chase Samples. “We are well-versed in the state and local laws that impact hotel and restaurant business operations and are pleased to work with the SCRLA to share our knowledge in this area.”
