GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Greenville Scottish Games will be offering two smaller events this year in lieu of the traditional May festival.
The 2021 Special Invitational Heavy Athletics Event will be held on Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McKinney Park in Woodruff. It will feature Scottish vendors, heavy athletics competitions, barbecue and a performance by the City of Greenville Pipes & Drums band. Admission is free and guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
The British Car Cruise-In & Gallabrae Scottish Ale Release Party will be held on Saturday, May 15th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Thomas Creek Brewery, 2054 Piedmont Highway, Greenville. It will include great British cars, Gallabrae Scottish Ale and barbecue. Free admission
“Since we are unable to hold our annual Scottish event at Furman this year, we decided to proceed with these two events in order to celebrate our Scottish Heritage on a scaled back level,” said Jay Spivey, Marketing Director for the Games.
