Peace Medical Center Greenville receives national recognition at American Heart Association-Hypertension Scientific Sessions in New Orleans on September 6, 2019

Dr. Naveen Saxena, MD, FACC, a cardiologist at Peace Medical Center in Greenville, South Carolina presented his research titled “Efficacy of Spironolactone in the Management of Uncontrolled Hypertension in Patients with Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Diastolic Heart Disease” at American Heart Association-Hypertension scientific sessions in New Orleans.

His study demonstrated that spironolactone is an effective treatment of resistant hypertension and diastolic heart disease both in African American and Caucasian patients. Over the past two decades, the Peace Medical Center research team led by Dr. Saxena has presented fourteen research papers at the American Society of Hypertension and the American Heart Association.
