Fitesa to Install New Production Line in Simpsonville, SC to Supply Nonwoven Material for N95 Face Masks
Simpsonville, SC, USA (July 7, 2020): Fitesa, a leading global producer of nonwoven solutions for the hygiene and healthcare industries, announces plans to install a new meltblown production line to supply raw materials for the production of N95 face masks. This multimillion-dollar investment could also be used to produce nonwovens for hygienic wipes. Commercial production is expected to start in the 4th quarter of 2020.
“As a major supplier to the manufacturers of diapers and feminine care, some of the most essential and highly consumed products in the world, it has always been important for Fitesa to innovate and quickly respond to the changing needs of our customers. Right now, our nonwovens are needed in the healthcare industry, and as our customers adapt their production to this new demand, so will we,” says Ricardo Fasolo, Senior Vice President of North America.
This expansion comes just a year after Fitesa celebrated the inauguration of its newest innovation center located in Simpsonville and represents another step in their growth supporting South Carolina in Greenville County. As an essential business, Fitesa continues to operate without any reduction to its workforce or hours. Fitesa currently employs around 300 associates in Simpsonville and will be adding to their team this summer in preparation for the new line.
