Mauldin, SC, July 2, 2019 – Construction began in June on a new pediatric dental office to be located at 117 S. Main Street in Mauldin, at the intersection of South Main Street and Owens Lane. The project is an exciting redevelopment for the City of Mauldin on a site that has been abandoned for years.
Developed by Pintail Capital Partners and Fox Commercial Properties, the new building will be home to Maverick Smiles Pediatric Dentistry.

Maverick Smiles will provide high quality dental care to children from all backgrounds. Dr. Hughes grew up in Mauldin, leaving for dental school and a hospital-based residency in the Bronx in New York. Hughes always planned to return and serve her hometown. “My residency in the Bronx taught me how to serve children of all ages, regardless of medical history. At Maverick Smiles, our mission will be to provide compassionate care and make the dentist a fun place for ALL kids to go.”
Project partners include project architect Equip Studio, Unique Builders as general contractor, Pinnacle Financial Partners as project lender, and civil engineers Freeland & Kauffman, Inc. Construction should be complete in early December, and Maverick Smiles anticipates opening shortly thereafter.
