The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Palmetto Chapter of South Carolina #385, is pleased to announce the NAWIC South Atlantic Region Fall Conference will be held on the Isle of Palms from October 17-19, 2019.
The chapter is thrilled to be hosting this epic event and providing NAWIC members and guests with professional and personal development and education. Fall Conference Committee Chair Megan Bultman, with ECS Southeast, is responsible for leading the extensive planning efforts the chapter is undertaking.
The chapter has engaged three keynote speakers: Ruth Jordan (Minority Business Enterprise Manager for the City of North Charleston), Jennet Alterman (Chair of the Charleston Commission of Women and Women's Rights and Empowerment Network), and LB Adams (Founder and CEO of Practical Dramatics). Workshop speakers include Kole Abbot from Hansel Phelps, Becky Wenger with Procore, Curt Mercandante with the Freedom Club Festival, and many more! Members will also be able to participate in a hard hat tour of the Wild Dunes Hotel – Isle of Palms project developed by Lowe Destination Development.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas in 1953. Sixteen women came together, knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, and organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction.
Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more.
