Spartanburg, SC – Mobile Meals of Spartanburg accepted $16,930 awarded by Subaru of America, Inc. and Vic Bailey Subaru. The donation is part of the 2022-2023 Subaru Share the Love® Event and will support the Spartanburg community.
Mobile Meals of Spartanburg was selected as Vic Bailey Subaru’s Hometown Charity for the 15th annual Subaru Share the Love Event, giving car buyers the opportunity to dedicate a donation to support their local community. The automaker and retailer’s donation will contribute towards Mobile Meals of Spartanburg’s mission of supporting frail and homebound Spartanburg County citizens.
Mobile Meals of Spartanburg provides nutritious meals, services, and fellowship to the frail and homebound citizens in Spartanburg County.
As part of the event, Subaru of America Inc. donated $250 and Vic Bailey Subaru donated $50 for every new vehicle purchased or leased from November 17, 2022 to January 3, 2023. Customers at Vic Bailey Subaru selected between one of four national charities or Mobile Meals of Spartanburg to receive the donation. In total, the Subaru Share the Love Event reached a grand total of $255 million in donations through its 15-year history.

About Mobile Meals of Spartanburg:
Each weekday approximately 150 generous members of our community dedicate their time to deliver a nutritious, hot meal to approximately 1,500 of our frail and homebound neighbors throughout Spartanburg County. Mobile Meals is much more than a meal. We provide nourishment for the mind, body and soul. Mobile Meals delivers love, compassion and hope to those in need. Our ministry includes meal delivery, case management and a lay pastor. We are a completely independent, privately funded 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. We receive no government funding. We do partner with Meals on Wheels America and Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM). SHFBM partners and distributes food and essential grocery items to approximately 550 hunger feeding agencies in 19 counties in North and South Carolina. Agencies served include emergency pantries, soup kitchens, senior programs, shelters and low-income daycares.
