Miracle Hill Ministries Hires Karen Busha as VP of Children’s Ministries

GREENVILLE, SC (July 23, 2018) – Miracle Hill Ministries has hired Karen Busha as VP of Children’s Ministries to provide leadership for the organization’s group homes and foster care program. Busha comes to the non-profit with more than 30 years of experience in state government helping women, children and families address substance use and mental health disorders. She is also an international behavioral health accreditation surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

“I am excited to serve with a ministry that for decades has been known for its love and compassion for children,” said Busha. “My hope is to continue to serve our children with excellence while growing and building upon the strong foundation of services provided.”

In her new role, Busha will oversee Miracle Hill’s foster care program, which currently has 235 families, as well as Miracle Hill Children’s Home, which opened in 1958 and now serves, on average, 44 children in cottage style group homes with house parents. Additionally, Busha will be responsible for the organization’s Boys’ Shelter for ages 11-21 and Homes for Life in Spartanburg, a shelter for young men ages 16-21. Last year alone, Miracle Hill served more than 600 children in its facilities and foster care program.

Busha is a native South Carolinian and Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, and Master Addiction Counselor. She holds a BA in Christian Education from Erskine College, a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance from Clemson University and a Doctorate of Christian Counseling from Omega Bible Institute and Seminary. In 1977 she was recognized as a University of Women's Outstanding Christian Educator. She is the founder of He Understands Girl Stuff (HUGS) a Christian outreach designed to champion the hearts of women both in the US and South Africa.
