GREENVILLE, SC (March 19, 2019) – Miracle Hill Ministries has hired George Allwes as VP of Thrift Operations to provide leadership for the non-profit’s eight Upstate thrift stores and auto sales division. Allwes comes to the organization with more than 20 years of experience leading multi-site operations and sales, having held leadership roles with Goodwill, Raymour & Flanigan Furniture, and Gander Mountain.
“George’s past experiences in a variety of retail models has prepared him to lift our thrift and auto activities to a new level that will help provide needed support for our overall operations,” said Ken Kruithof, Chief Operating Officer for Miracle Hill Ministries. “I am very excited that George has joined us as he has already exhibited a strong drive to know our staff, the operations, and find opportunities to build on our strengths while also working on areas of improvement.”
Miracle Hill’s thrift stores employ on average 170 people and contribute close to a million dollars annually to the operating budget of Miracle Hill’s homeless shelters and addiction recovery facilities.
“I feel God directed me to this opportunity at Miracle Hill. I have a passion for those in need,” said Allwes. “I look forward to supporting Miracle Hill’s mission of helping homeless children and adults receive food and shelter with compassion, hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, and move toward healthy relationships and stability.”
