Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict, dba MetroConnects, is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s 2018 Facility Award of Excellence.
“We are honored to be recognized for facility excellence,” said Carol Elliott, general manager of MetroConnects. “This award is a significant for any facility, but comes with a greater reward considering the size of our company, only 40 full-time employees, and the population of more than 44,000 customers that we serve.”
This is the fifth consecutive year that MetroConnects has been honored with the Facility of Excellence Award, which is presented to facilities who demonstrate excellence in facility operations, maintenance and management in the protection of the environment, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations. The award was presented on Monday, March 11, 2019 during the 2019 S.C. Environmental Conference.

About Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict
Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict, dba MetroConnects, was created as a special purpose district, by the General Assembly by Act No. 687 on July 14, 1969 and is a subdistrict within Renewable Water Resources or ReWa, and is empowered to acquire, construct, operate, maintain, improve and extend facilities for the collection of sewage within the subdistrict and transmit the same to the trunk lines or sewage treatment and disposal facilities of ReWa for treatment and disposal.
