GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA – Meals on Wheels of Greenville is pleased to announce a charitable gift in the amount of $29,779 was received from Subaru of America. As one of 1,440 hometown charities chosen to participate in Subaru’s 2020 Share the Love® Event, this gift will provide over 5,900 nutritious meals, friendly volunteer visits and safety checks.
“We are fortunate to have the support of partners like Subaru of America whose generosity knows no bounds,” said Catriona Carlisle, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “We are both honored and humbled to have been chosen as this year’s hometown charity by Fairway Subaru of Greenville.” Fairway Subaru has been a continued supporter of Meals on Wheels of Greenville since 2012, both financially and as a Corporate Route Partner delivering meals twice a month.
Through Subaru’s 2020 Share the Love® Event, from November 19, 2020, to January 4, 2021, Meals on Wheels was chosen as one of four national charities to receive a contribution from Subaru of America’s commitment of $250 for every new vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of charity. Meals on Wheels of Greenville has been a hometown charity five times since 2015, resulting in a giving total of $80,855.68 from Subaru of America to help fight hunger and isolation among the homebound in Greenville County.
