Marian And Fred Carpenter Unveil Capital Campaign To Transform Greenville’s Premier Adult Mental Health Resource

WHAT: Marian and Fred Carpenter, Chairs of the Gateway Capital Campaign, “From Shadows to Light – Building Greenville’s Gateway to Dignity and Hope” will reveal funding details on the design and construction of building a much larger Clubhouse facility that will serve more people in our community. The event, announcement of the building details will be made at Gateway located at 415 Rutherford Street, Greenville at 11 am on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Gateway is the premier adult mental health resource for the Greenville community. Its proven and unique Clubhouse Model offers the greatest hope for long-term success because it provides members with a sense of hope, confidence, and belonging. The result is not only enriched lives of those living with severe mental illness, but numerous benefits for the family, friends, and employers with whom they interact.

Immediately following the announcement interviews will be available with key stakeholders.
Key stakeholders include:
Marian and Fred Carpenter – Capital Campaign Community Chairs
Randy Redlinger – Gateway Executive Director
Stuart Mauney – Board Chairman
Dean Oang - Lead Architect, LS3P

WHY: Gateway is in the midst of a capital campaign to raise funds to build a new and much larger Clubhouse facility. The current building will not allow the accommodation of any new members on a daily basis. As the only accredited Clubhouse Model Rehabilitation Program in South Carolina and only 1 of 11 Clubhouses that offers Colleague Training in the world, the need for a larger building to meet the growing needs and demands of services has become evident with the additional referrals and request of services which has resulted in a long wait list. Over the years, Gateway has quietly implemented many programs that have dramatically improved the lives of members and
consequently their families. Gateway has saved lives. Gateway has also saved dollars by reducing homelessness, poverty and even the number and length of hospital stays. This announcement marks the continuing progress on the timeline of an organization that plays an integral part in the heart of our community.
