GREENVILLE, SC (April 29, 2019) – Miracle Hill Ministries has welcomed Jamie Shoemaker as Director of Sales for its thrift division. Miracle Hill Thrift is a social enterprise that contributes nearly a million dollars annually to the non-profit’s Upstate homeless shelters and addiction recovery programs.

Shoemaker is joining Miracle Hill after having served at a neighboring non-profit for ten years, most recently as chief financial officer. During her tenure, she spent five years in thrift operations and served in social ministries and disaster response as well.

“Jamie’s past experiences with accounting and thrift functions has prepared her to help us evolve our revenue opportunities to a new level that will provide the needed support and vision for our future success,” said George Allwes, VP of Thrift Operations at Miracle Hill Ministries.

Shoemaker will be responsible for merchandising, purchase of new goods, fair and consistent price points and sales initiatives at the ministry’s eight Upstate thrift stores. She will work with store leaders to develop plans to drive revenue as well as cultivate a culture of ministry among the staff so that their work is not just about sales but about spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to customers.

“I’m so excited that God opened the door for me at Miracle Hill, and I am confident that He will use my skills and abilities to not only make a difference in our revenue, but most importantly, to empower staff to share Christ and meet the spiritual needs of our customers,” said Shoemaker.

Because thrift stores are dependent on donations for their operations, Shoemaker says it’s imperative that Miracle Hill Thrift Stores remain committed to excellent stewardship of the donations they receive. “We want to make it not only easy and convenient to give to Miracle Hill, but also fulfilling. We want to foster trust in the community so our donors are confident that their donations are truly making an impact right here in the Upstate.”
