The Greenville Winter Invitational was held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena this past Saturday, December 17th. Gamecocks, Tigers, and Paladins all came out to cheer on their team and enjoy a fun-filled day of basketball matchups. Attendees enjoyed shooting hoops on the Furman Plaza, food trucks, giveaways and entertainment and activities led by emcee Jeremiah Dew (aka ‘JDew). Tournament highlights included Furman University shooting the winning basket with less than a second left on the play clock to defeat Stephen F. Austin and Clemson University returned to The Well for the first time in 6 years and defeated the University of Richmond.
Proceeds from ticket sales were donated to two deserving upstate charities during a check presentation at halftime of the Furman and Clemson games. Clemson University’s Men of Color and OnTrack Greenville, a program of the United Way of Greenville County, each received a check for $6,500 to help them continue their missions of serving the Upstate community.
Bon Secours Wellness Arena hosted the event in partnership with VisitGreenvilleSC and Furman University.
