Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Lisa R. Claxton has recently been appointed to the Spartanburg Community College Foundation Board of Directors, effective September 2019.

The SCC Foundation works to provide innovative funding opportunities to support SCC students, faculty and staff.
Active in the community, Lisa serves as chair of the Spartanburg Interfaith Hospitality Network and is a volunteer mediator at the Upstate Mediation Center. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Spartanburg and a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and the United Way of the Piedmont Nonprofit Fellows program.
Lisa’s practice is focused on advising businesses on complex employee relations issues. She represents businesses in employment litigation before federal, state and local regulatory agencies in matters involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate and wrongful termination. She is also experienced in governmental law, having established Spartanburg County’s first in-house legal department.
