Hammond, Tomberg join GSA Business Report

Angie Hammond and Melissa Tomberg have joined the GSA Business Report/SC Biz News sales team.
Hammond, an account executive, has spent her entire career in sales, most of it in newspaper and media advertising. She worked for the Greenville News, first as an account representative, later as a senior marketing representative and most recently as a senior multimedia account executive.
A resident of Greer, she has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the USC-Upstate and has been active in area civic and chamber of commerce activities.
“I’m excited to join the GSA Business Report team and look forward to helping Upstate businesses succeed by making smart advertising choices,” Hammond said.
Hammond takes over accounts managed by Keith Johnson, who has been promoted to another position within the company.
Tomberg is the first to fill the new position of events account executive for SC Biz News events throughout the state.
She has spent most of her career in advertising, with prior roles as print media manager for Bi-Lo and account executive for several advertising agencies.
Tomberg has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida.
“SC Biz News has a lot to offer our business partners through the quality events that we produce,” she said. “I am excited to work with business leaders on events like the S.C. Manufacturing Conference and Expo.”
GSA Business Report Publisher Rick Jenkins, who also is show director for the manufacturing conference and expo, announced the new hires.
“It’s the best of circumstances when you can attract superlative, experienced talent and add them to an already seasoned and dedicated team of professionals. And that’s what happened with the addition of Angie and Melissa,” Jenkins said. “Our clients, as well as all of our local and statewide products, will benefit with them on board.”
