GreerWalker’s Barry Leasure named to the Greenville Area Development Corporation’s board of directors

(Charlotte, N.C.) -- Barry Leasure’s roots in Greenville, S.C., date back to the years Ronald Reagan held the reins of American government. So, the managing partner of GreerWalker’s Greenville office was a natural fit for the Greenville Area Development Corporation (GADC), which has just made him the newest member of its board of directors.

Leasure first went to the state’s sixth-largest city in 1985 to attend Bob Jones University. After earning a B.S. degree in business administration and accounting in 1989, he joined GreerWalker in 1990. Though he worked in Charlotte, he found his way back to Greenville and opened GreerWalker’s office there. Now, he has overall responsibility for the firm's real estate practice and is a senior partner in the firm's construction practice.

Leasure has more than two decades of experience providing tax and business advisory services to clients of all sizes across a wide range of industries. He primarily focuses on the construction, property management and real estate development industries, working with developers, owners, brokers and investors. He’s also a member of both the North Carolina and South Carolina Associations of Certified Public Accountants.

His real estate knowledge should come in handy at the GADC, where he’ll serve a three-year term with an option for a second term. That corporation promotes growth across the economic spectrum, and one of its tasks is to guide investors toward industrial buildings and sites, office buildings and sites, and industrial and business parks.
