Generations Group Home receives additional funding from BB&T Lighthouse Project

Fountain Inn – Generations Group Home has received an additional $5,000 in funding as a BB&T Lighthouse Project Spirit Award recipient. Generations Group Home teamed up with volunteers from BB&T to help beautify the Generations campus.

Associates from BB&T’s Upstate Corporate Center in Mauldin volunteered their time to help complete landscaping on the almost 30 acre property which included spreading mulch, weeding, cutting grass and enabling Generations with the funds to install 3 much needed sidewalks. BB&T associates went back on another day and sponspored a Star Party for the boys where dinner was catered for them as well as played fun games and fellowshiped with them.

The BB&T Lighthouse Project is a community service effort celebrating 11 years of service during 2019. Associates partner with local nonprofits to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Project ideas are submitted by associates based on the overall needs of the community. Approved projects receive funding and time away from the office to complete the hands-on outreach. At the close of each year’s campaign, six exceptional projects are identified as Spirit Award recipients for going above and beyond to meet the needs of the community. Those chosen receive an additional $5,000 donation to further support the great work they do on a daily basis in the community. Three Spirit Awards are chosen by the online community vote and three are chosen by BB&T's Executive Management team.

Brian Clark, Executive Director of Generation’s commented, “The generosity of BB&T is overwhelming. We can’t express how much we appreciate their partnership and support of the boy’s here at Generations!”
