The Princeton Review has again included Furman University in its annual guide, “The Best Value Colleges: 200 Schools with Exceptional ROI for Your Tuition Investment.”
Among several rankings included in the guide, Furman was No. 9 among 25 colleges singled out as “Best Schools for Making an Impact,” which is based on student responses to questions about community service, student government, sustainability and student engagement on campus.
“We appreciate being included among a select group of outstanding colleges and universities,” said Furman President Elizabeth Davis. “It’s also gratifying to be recognized for our special efforts to make an impact through The Furman Advantage and prepare students for meaningful lives and careers.”
The Princeton Review chose the 200 schools based on a comprehensive analysis of data from its surveys of administrators at more than 650 colleges in 2017-18. Survey topics covered academics, cost, financial aid, career services, graduation rates, student debt and alumni support.
The publication also factored in data from its surveys of students and PayScale.com surveys of alumni about their job satisfaction.
Princeton Review Editor-in-Chief Robert Franek said the selected schools are known for their outstanding academics and affordability, and that only 7 percent of the nation’s four-year colleges made it into the guide. “Students at these colleges also have access to extraordinary career services from their freshman year on, plus a lifetime of valuable alumni support,” he said.
