Friends Of The Reedy River Gets A Makeover

Local organization launches new website

(March 7, 2017 – Greenville, SC) – Friends of the Reedy River, a local environmental organization, recently launched a new resource-based mobile-ready website. Executive Director Patricia Carson led the effort, thanks to a generous grant from Greenville Women Giving and the help of website developer A-LINE interactive. The website not only includes information about the organization and its community events, it educates the public about current issues facing the Upstate and the river. Complete with a history of the Reedy River, photos, and facts, the site also contains resources for public use. Their resources page provides links to development, recreation, history, DIY, maps, and research materials. The organization is also working with the city and county to add K-12 educational resources.

Friends of the Reedy River, a 501(c) (3) volunteer-based nonprofit is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and restoring the Reedy River. Friends of the Reedy River carries out its work through education, activation, and advocacy. “Our new website is a platform for educating the community about the importance of a healthy river eco-system, informing the public about how they can help advocate for the river, and sharing opportunities that activate the community,” said Carson.

Established in 1993, Friends of the Reedy River is transforming the river through on-the-ground, grass-roots efforts.
