The Greenville Fine Arts Center (FAC) recently announced its outstanding achievement as an Exemplary School by the Arts School Network (ASN) Board of Directors. Recipients of this prestigious award will be honored at the 2023 Art Schools Network (ASN) Annual Conference held in Birmingham, Alabama in October. Vee Popat, FAC Director, and other FAC staff will attend the conference.
As a founding member institution and the site of one of its first conferences, the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) and the City of Birmingham will host the 2023 ASN Conference. Given Birmingham's historical connection to the Civil Rights Movement and the critical role that arts and arts education have played in the city's revitalization, this year's conference is especially significant.
When asked about the honor, Vee Popat, FAC Director, stated, “The Greenville Fine Arts Center is proud to be recognized as an Exemplary School and receive an award that reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable arts community. The award serves to recognize our students, instructors, and programs among the best in the nation.”
