FAVOR Upstate receives $50,000 from the Mary Black Foundation

Greenville, SC-In November of 2022, the Mary Black Foundation received an unprecedented $8 million dollar donation from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. The Mary Black Foundation received this gift and set out to support the Foundation’s mission to invest in people and organizations who are improving health and wellbeing in Spartanburg County.

FAVOR Upstate is one of the nonprofit organizations who were on the receiving end of this amazing gift. FAVOR received a $50,000 unsolicited donation which will be used to provide recovery services to people with a substance use disorder in Spartanburg County.

Lesley Pregenzer, CEO of FAVOR Upstate said “The Spartanburg community embraces and celebrates recovery from substance use disorders as a positive and healing force. FAVOR Upstate exists so that everyone affected by substance use disorders in the Upstate region of SC has a fighting chance at recovery. We are grateful to the Mary Black Foundation!”
