SPARTANBURG, July 10, 2020 – The ETV Endowment of South Carolina’s strong fiscal responsibility and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the ninth consecutive year the ETV Endowment of South Carolina has earned this top distinction.
Since 2002, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measure of openness, to its ratings methodology. Those Accountability & Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors.
“Only 4% of the charities we evaluate have received at least nine consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that ETV Endowment of South Carolina outperforms most other charities in America,” said Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. “This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets ETV Endowment of South Carolina apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.”
“For more than 40 years, we’ve been diligent stewards of the generous gifts we receive from our members. We’ve honored our commitment, ensuring that your donations support the programming we all enjoy. It’s that commitment that has earned us the highest Charity Navigator rating for the ninth consecutive year for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to transparency and accountability,” said Coby Cartrette Hennecy, Executive Director of the ETV Endowment.
