Craig Gaulden Davis Celebrates 65 Years and Names New Leadership

GREENVILLE, SC – Craig Gaulden Davis (CGD), a regional architecture and interior design firm, celebrates 65 years of architectural excellence this summer. Recognized for iconic projects such as the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, the Greenville County Museum of Art and more recent projects such as the South Carolina Children’s Theatre and Roper Mountain Science Center, the firm has transitioned its leadership in preparation for an even brighter future.

Scott Powell, AIA has been named as President and Chief Executive Officer. Scott has been a leader in the firm for nearly 30 years and has served on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has served as President of AIA Greenville and the Rotary Club of Greenville. Scott is a graduate of Leadership Greenville, Leadership South Carolina, and is currently participating in the Diversity Leadership Initiative through Furman University’s Riley Institute. Scott is passionate about education and is an active participant in efforts to improve local and state schools.

David Dixon, AIA is currently serving as Chairman of the firm’s board of directors. David has been engaged in the firm’s leadership for 35 years and actively works with clients in higher education, institutional organizations, and commercial enterprises. His active projects for Southern First Bank and First Pres Greenville are significant transformative projects in the local area.

Ed Zeigler, FAIA has served as President and Chief Executive Officer for the past 20 years and has elevated the stature of the firm through his local, regional, and national leadership activities. Having been with the firm for 38 years, Ed now serves as an emeritus director on the firm’s board. He will lead design efforts on significant projects for the Peace Center, the Downtown Events Center, and Brookgreen Gardens while continuing to mentor the firm’s talented staff of architects and designers.

Adam Berry, AIA has been named an Associate with the firm. Adam has been with the firm for 10 years and leverages his background in music and arts to consistently design award winning solutions.

The firm’s leadership team includes Charles Gunning, John Hansen, Gwinn Harvey, Andrea Kuhfuss, Stuart Stenger, and Jim Determan.
