The Countybank Foundation, comprised of Countybank and Greenwood Capital, recently contributed $1,000 to the Greer Farmers Market and $6,500 to Greer Relief in support of their efforts to give back to the Greater Greer community through specialized programs.
“On behalf of Countybank and Greenwood Capital, we are honored to have the financial means to support these two wonderful causes within the Greer market,” said Kevin Duncan, Greer City Executive for Countybank. “Both organizations are passionate about meeting the needs of our neighbors, and we look forward to seeing their programs expand.”
The Greer Farmers Market is a local non-profit with a mission to provide community access to fresh food options. The donation from the Countybank Foundation will be used to promote the “Support Small, Think Outside the Store” program. The program started in May 2021 and will conclude in September, focusing on marketing to low-income and state housing facilities within a three-mile radius of downtown Greer.
“To say we are thankful for the support from Countybank and Greenwood Capital would be an incredible understatement,” said Jessica Monroe, Director of the Greer Farmers Market. “From working with local farmers and businesses to sponsoring chef demos, we could not do what we do without help from our community foundations.”
Greer Relief and Resources Agency is a registered non-profit that strives to transform neighbors in need to neighbors who thrive by providing services to eliminate poverty and help members of the community overcome barriers for success. The funds from the Countybank Foundation will go toward the Reaching Every Neighbor Every Way (RENEW) Program. RENEW is designed to help neighbors improve the community through participation in financial wellness, job services, and healthy living.
“Fighting homelessness and preventing crises in families in the Upstate community is at the core of our mission,” said Caroline Robertson, Executive Director of Greer Relief. “We are beyond grateful for the Countybank Foundation’s generous contribution, especially as we continue to expand the RENEW program giving our neighbors tools to end the crisis.”
