South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS) proudly announces that Charlotte Osmer, Staff Attorney in the Greenville Office of SCLS, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Greenville Revitalization Corporation. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority.
The Greenville Revitalization Corporation (GRC) is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to bring economic opportunity back to the Textile Crescent of Greenville County. It was established in 2012 as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization by the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority. GRC fully operates with privately donated funds and has received grants from several foundations and organizations in the State of South Carolina.
Charlotte is a graduate of Ohio State University and the Washington College of Law at American University. She represents clients in the areas of housing, employment, family, and immigration law at SCLS. SCLS is a state-wide, non-profit law firm that provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low income residents.
Working in concert, GRC and GCRA have concluded that while housing and other amenities have improved in the Textile Crescent communities, unemployment has remained high and the residents still struggle economically. As a result, the two organizations provide a dynamic duo that has already developed several projects and has a great potential for future success.
