“The Rose Ball is one of Greenville’s most elegant and sophisticated events, but at its heart, it’s about giving back to our community in ways that create positive change,” said Wendy Wilson, who serves as 2019 Rose Ball chairman and Charity Ball Board of Greenville member. “This year’s ball is on track to raise a record amount for our beneficiaries, and that is a direct reflection of the commitment of our volunteers and the many corporate and individual donors who give so generously.”
The 2019 Rose Ball beneficiaries were selected from a pool of over 40 applications submitted by qualifying non-profits in Greenville County. The Charity Ball Board of Greenville’s Beneficiaries Committee, led by chair Pam Evans and vice-chair Gaye Sprague, reviewed each application, conducted site visits, and ultimately presented a slate for recommendation to the Charity Ball Board this spring.
“Since the inception of the Rose Ball in 1971, over $3.6 million has been distributed to local organizations in Greenville County. We are humbled by the work of the wonderful agencies who serve physical, emotional, educational, environmental and cultural needs in our community,” said Pam Evans, chair of the 2019 Beneficiaries Committee.
The Rose Ball is Greenville’s longest-running charitable community event, featuring more than 4,000 roses and providing funding for many Greenville charitable organizations biennially.
