Financial Seminar for Upstate Latina Community

In 2021, Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union (CFFCU) invested over 380 hours of financial literacy instruction to over 60 students in Spartanburg and Greenville. Classes consisted of topics ranging from budgeting, to understanding your credit, and planning for the future. Students graduated these classes with a greater understanding of the money principles that lay a good foundation for financial success.

CFFCU strives to see financial health across the Upstate. Through free coaching for their members and workshops in the community, they have made it their mission to see this dream become a reality.

“Carolina Foothill’s decision to focus on financial literacy comes from our roots, credit unions were founded on the principle of people helping people and we intend to keep that as our focus in every decision we make” said Lisa Vandys, Compliance Officer.

As a local credit union, Carolina Foothills seeks to expand their footprint in the Upstate of South Carolina and advance their goal of providing free financial literacy in their community.

About Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union

In 1960, a group of US Postal Service employees met together and formed the beginning of Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union in the basement of the Spartanburg USPS office. Since our humble beginnings, Carolina Foothills has grown to our present size of over 125 partner companies and three distinct service communities located throughout the Upstate. With over 17,000 members who have more than $165 million in assets, we serve members through branches in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Gaffney, including 4 elementary school branches.

Carolina Foothills embraces the motto on which credit unions were founded, "Not for profit. Not for charity. But for service." We hold to the values of the credit union movement by offering products and services that meet our members' needs. Nowhere is the "people helping people" philosophy better evident than in our strong, member-centered service found in each of our financial centers. We uphold that claim by our values. We provide vital financial tools as a place for members to save and borrow; but more importantly, to belong. We look forward to impacting our members' financial futures.
