Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate Selected as the 2Q22 FUEL for Good Grant Recipient

FUEL – a Greenville-based marketing agency offering a full suite of strategy, creative, branding, advertising, and PR services – is pleased to announce that it has selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate as the FUEL for Good second quarter 2022 grant recipient. Through this program, FUEL selects a local nonprofit organization with an identifiable need for marketing support and dedicates three months and $10,000 worth of pro bono services that will have a long-term impact on the organization and those it serves.

During the Q2 program, FUEL will develop a public relations strategy to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate in raising awareness about the need for mentors and the opportunities to change the lives of children by volunteering as a “Big.” Many of the children on the waiting list for a mentor are at-risk youth, and a relationship with a mentor will have a positive impact on their lives.

“We cannot tell you how excited we are to be selected by FUEL as their grant recipient, and the timing couldn’t be better,” said Charlene Cheeks, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate. “We are at a critical point in recruiting volunteers to serve as Bigs after a significant decrease during the COVID pandemic, and we’re honored by FUEL’s willingness to create a public relations plan to help us spread the word and recruit passionate and committed mentors for the more than 100 vulnerable children on our waiting list.”

FUEL is committed to making a difference in the community and uses the FUEL for Good Grant program to give back and help local nonprofits in a tangible way. Since launching the program in 2020, FUEL has worked with nine local nonprofits and donated 600 hours of service with work ranging from videos and logo development to social media campaigns and marketing collateral.

“Giving back to the community is in our DNA, and the FUEL for Good program is our way of making a significant impact by offering marketing skills and resources to help local nonprofits fulfill their missions and serve those in need in Greenville County,” said Warren Griffith, FUEL founder and CEO. “We are excited to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Upstate and help them raise awareness and reach more mentors for the many boys and girls waiting to be matched with a big brother or big sister.”
