BANDWAGON expanding national footprint through participation in Capital Factory accelerator

GREENVILLE, S.C. – BANDWAGON, the Greenville-based startup that is using data to transform the college gameday experience, will kick off 2018 in Austin, Texas as a participant in Capital Factory’s six month startup accelerator program.

Capital Factory is the center of gravity for entrepreneurs in Austin, the number one startup city in the U.S. Last year more than 100,000 entrepreneurs, programmers and designers gathered day and night, in-person and online for meetups, mentorship, classes and coworking. They meet the best entrepreneurs in Texas and introduce them to their first investors, employees, mentors and customers. According to Pitchbook, Capital Factory has been the most active investor in Texas since 2013.

As a participant in the Accelerator program, BANDWAGON will receive access to a mentor network of the top investors and entrepreneurs in Texas, introductions to business development and press opportunities, and receive cloud hosting credits to continue developing their stadium identity management platform, which integrates blockchain technology into ticket sales to identify who is present within the stadium on gameday. While members of the BANDWAGON team will relocate to Austin to participate in the accelerator, BANDWAGON’s headquarters will remain in Greenville.

“We’ve been following BANDWAGON as they have expanded their reach throughout the southeast, and we’re excited to work more closely with them,” said Gordon Daugherty, managing director at Capital Factory. “They are incorporating data into the gameday experience in a way that will significantly enhance the experience for both fans and teams, and we are happy to be a part of their next step as they build a great company.”

“Participating in Capital Factory introduces us to a whole new ecosystem of investors and resources that are beyond what we can access here in Greenville,” said Harold Hughes, BANDWAGON CEO. “We are looking forward to bringing back the knowledge and connections we make in Austin and putting them to work here at home, both for the growth of our business and for our Greenville startup community as a whole.”

BANDWAGON is a Greenville-based sports technology company that captures and enhances the gameday experience for fans, teams, and brands.
