Annual Meals on Wheels Event Provides Over 50,000 Meals to the Homebound

Greenville, South Carolina (February 5, 2019) – Meals on Wheels of Greenville’s annual Sweetheart Charity Ball, held on Saturday, February 2, provided 50,127 meals to the homebound in Greenville County.

“We are extremely grateful to our generous sponsors, volunteers and supporters for donating their time and resources to Meals on Wheels,” said Catriona Carlisle, Executive Director at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “The money raised at the Sweetheart Charity Ball will not only provide hot, nutritious meals, but also a daily personal visit to nearly 1,500 men and women in our community, many of whom are isolated and live alone.”

Greenville Maintenance Services, Inc. served as the presenting sponsor for the 2019 event and has been a consistent and generous partner to Meals on Wheels of Greenville for years. “We are proud to support Meals on Wheels of Greenville every year and were thrilled to sponsor the Sweetheart Charity Ball,” stated Tommy Jenkins, President and Owner of Greenville Maintenance Services. “We know the impact this event has in the lives of those served by Meals on Wheels and we’re pleased to play a small part in helping those in need.”

The Sweetheart Charity Ball was held at the Hyatt Regency Downtown. Funds were raised through silent and live auction items, Fund-a-Need donations and sponsorships by generous partners.
