(Anderson, S.C. – March 31, 2021) – AnMed Health’s Intensive Critical Care Unit (ICU) has received the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) 2021 Beacon Award for Excellence. The esteemed award is given to nursing units that set the bar for excellence in patient outcomes, staff and patient satisfaction, and overall credibility with
patients. Units that receive national recognition serve as role models to others on their journey to provide excellent patient and family care.

“I am so proud to be part of AnMed Health’s amazing ICU team. This accomplishment is a reflection of our team’s dedication to keeping our patients at the center of all that we do, even during a pandemic,” said AnMed Health ICU Nurse Manager Katherine Burton.

The hospital’s ICU received its first Beacon Award in 2018. AnMed Health’s 2021 designation remains active until 2024. AnMed Health’s designation is one of 12 in South Carolina and the only one in the Upstate.
