The American Heart Association (AHA) is proud to introduce the 2021-2022 Upstate Board of Directors.
Serving in leadership roles are, Chandra Mansell, Matt Puckett, and Katherine Smoak Davis. Mansell, clinical operations manager of Greenville Free Medical Clinic, is serving as the board’s president. Puckett, area president of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., is the board’s chair. And Davis, owner and CEO of Smoak Public Relations, holds the role of leadership development chair.
“We are honored to have Chandra, Matt, and Katherine serving leadership roles for this year’s board of directors,” said Kelly Wilkins, executive director of the American Heart Association. “Through their leadership, we can continue our relentless efforts as we drive towards a healthier Upstate. Together, we will identify our community’s biggest barriers and opportunities to reach our 2024 Healthy Equity Impact Goal which is to advance cardiovascular health for all.”

Board members will assist the organization in guiding local efforts to reduce the incidences of heart disease and stroke, the Nos. 1 and 5 killers in South Carolina. To do this, the board will focus on 3 priority areas including, tobacco and vaping, blood pressure, and food insecurity.
