GREENVILLE, SC — A festival celebrating National Music Store Day is coming to Greenville, courtesy of Pecknel Music Company and the National Alliance of Music Merchants. On Saturday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., area music lovers are invited to Pecknel Music Company for a free afternoon of music, food and giveaways.
“We’re excited to launch this first annual National Music Store Day to celebrate the power of music and community,” said Jeremiah Manriquez, owner and CEO of Pecknel Music Company, a staple of the Greenville music scene for more than 60 years, offering music lessons as well as instrument sales, instrument rentals and instrument repairs.
He added, “Our purpose boils down to deepening people’s connections within a community, and what better way to do that than through music. That’s how we have always served music enthusiasts in Greenville-Spartanburg and Columbia, and we hope this event is the first of a new tradition to carry this purpose forward.”
The National Music Store Day event starts at 11 a.m. with special door buster sales and continues with an afternoon of live music, food truck slices from Local Pie Pizza Co., giveaways on the hour and a grand prize drawing for an electric guitar. The store will be offering a 10% discount on all inventory from open to close.
