The 22nd annual Dick Brooks Honda Meals on Wheels Invitational benefiting Greer Community Ministries’ (GCM) Meals on Wheels program will be Friday, May 10, at Greer Country Club.
The golf tournament includes two shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served to all participants poolside and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams in both the morning and afternoon rounds. Prizes will also be given to contest winners including Hole in One, Closest to the Pin, and Closest to the Line.
A silent auction in the clubhouse from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. features gift certificates to play at local golf courses, Mother’s Day gifts, and items from local vendors.
Sponsorships range from $150 to $7,500 and can be secured online at gcminc.org under the events tab or by calling Shelley Bierwiler, GCM events coordinator, 877-1937. Sponsorship levels of $1,500 and above include a guaranteed team of four golfers in the event. Please secure a place by April 5.
GCM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on fundraisers and donations to fund four programs. The Greer Meals on Wheels program provides freshly prepared lunches to 300 homebound clients Monday-Friday. GCM also serves senior adults through the Senior Dining program, providing food and fellowship each week day morning. The food pantry and clothing closet provides emergency food and clothing to those in need in the greater Greer area. All services are provided at no cost to clients.
