Rogers Group Donates $8,500 to Miracle Hill Shelter for Women and Children

Shepherd's Gate homeless shelter for women and children

GREENVILLE, SC (February 28, 2018) - The Rogers Group, operating Ashmore Brothers in Greer, South Carolina, has made an $8,500 gift in support of Shepherd’s Gate, Miracle Hill Ministries’ 58-bed homeless shelter for women and children. The gift will underwrite the direct cost of operations for several weeks and is especially beneficial as the shelter maintains high occupancy during the colder winter months.

“We appreciate the longstanding partnership we have enjoyed with Ashmore Brothers, especially their generous work to provide an attractive rear garden and parking area for Shepherd’s Gate a few years ago. We welcome the Rogers Group to the Upstate and look forward to continuing that partnership with them in the future,” said Reid Lehman, Miracle Hill’s President/CEO.

Shepherd’s Gate , which celebrated its 25th year of operation on February 14, 2018, provides safe lodging, three hot meals daily, case management, counseling, and a fresh start for women and women with children. In addition to the shelter’s regular beds, Shepherd’s Gate opens a cold weather area to house more women whenever the temperature falls below 40 degrees. In January and February of this year, the shelter welcomed 16 additional cold weather shelter guests .The average stay for a regular guest at Shepherd’s Gate is 43 days. Last year, 416 different women and 59 children were housed at the shelter.

Shepherd’s Gate is located at 11 Regency Hill Drive in Greenville. For more information, contact Minda Shelton, Director, at 864.268.5589 or mshelton@miraclehill.org
