Navy League of the U.S. to hold event at Commerce Club May 11

The Upper South Carolina Council of the Navy League will host a dinner meeting at the Commerce Club located at 55 Beattie Place, Greenville, SC 29601.

There is a parking garage adjacent to the building. A social hour will start at 6pm with a cash bar with soft drinks at $4, beer and wine at $5 and mixed drinks at $6. Dinner will be served at 6:45pm.

Following dinner we will feature our guest speaker Rear Admiral (Ret) Charles Young. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1970 and had a very successful career in Nuclear Submarines including a tour as commanding Officer of the USS San Juan (SSN 751) and the USS Holland (AS 32).

After he retired he was responsible for the Ohio Class Ballistic Missile Submarine Replacement Program. Admiral Young will share his experiences as a Submariner and his work on the Ohio Class Replacement Program.
The Navy League is a civilian organization whose mission is to support the sea services: Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine.

We do this through informational meetings such as this, support of Youth Programs and other programs. You do not have to be a member to attend this dinner. This is a couples event.

Dress code at the Commerce Club suggests a sport coat in the evening. We will offer two (2) entree selections, Mahi Mahi or Pork accompanied with seasonal vegetables. Dinner will include a salad and Key Lime Pie for dessert. The price is $30 per person including tax and gratuity.

Please call Mike Epprecht, Council President, at 864-438-4621 for reservations.
