Greenville, South Carolina (March 20, 2018) – This month, Meals on Wheels of Greenville launched a fundraising campaign to mark 50 years of service to the Greenville community. The goal is to feed 50 clients for 50 weeks to celebrate 50 years, raising a total of $62,500.
Meals on Wheels is asking the community for help to reach this goal by participating in one of three ways:
· Donate your birthday: Donate your special day to the homebound by asking family and friends to make a monetary contribution to Meals on Wheels of Greenville in lieu of birthday gifts. Try starting a Facebook fundraiser so your friends can show their support.
· Throw a party: Invite friends over for a festive cocktail party or provide lunch for your coworkers, and ask your guests to make a contribution to Meals on Wheels of Greenville.
· Ask for donations: Ask your church to take up a special offering or email your community to collect donations for the homebound.
“Meals on Wheels of Greenville’s 50th birthday is a monumental milestone for Greenville County and a testament to the generosity and support of this community,” said Amanda Osborne, Director of Development at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “It’s important that those who have made it possible for Meals on Wheels to provide hot meals and hope to the homebound for the last 50 years can be involved in providing for the future, too. Everyone can find a way to participate and make a difference for our neighbors in need.”
Meals on Wheels of Greenville’s official birthday is on October 16, 2018. Additional information and fundraising tools are available online at www.MealsonWheelsGreenville.org/50.
