GREENVILLE, SC (April 9, 2018) – Greenville Technical College hopes to increase its roster of adjunct instructors with a hiring and networking event May 8.
The event will be held at the University Center Greenville Auditorium in McAlister Square from 6-8 p.m.
Potential hires will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with department areas about teaching environment and technology, hours and compensation (based on experience and education).
Adjunct instructors teach on a part-time basis, averaging about 10-20 hours per week depending on instruction and grading time and helping students outside of the classroom. Positions may include days, evenings, weekends and online classes among the college’s eight Greenville County locations.
“We find that ideal candidates are those who are looking to make a difference in the lives of our students. Industry professionals, recent retirees, and individuals like stay-at-home moms and dads, who are looking for part-time work with a flexible schedule are encouraged to apply,” said Courtney Stokes, employment and supplemental staffing manager at Greenville Tech.
Positions in demand include those for most academic arts and sciences disciplines like general biology, art history, English and math; technical programs like nursing, mechanical engineering technology, industrial maintenance technology, NCCER construction/electrical trades and supply chain management; and continuing education certifications for American Heart Association, forklift safety, and Environmental Health and Safety.
Most positions, especially those in the academic program areas, require at least a master’s degree in the related field and some career experience.
