(December 18, 2017 / Greenville, SC) Club Leaders Forum – the premier consulting source of the private club industry – recently announced that The Poinsett Club, one of the Greenville area’s oldest and most recognizable clubs, received an “Honorable Mention” in its inaugural list of “Platinum Clubs of the World.”
500 City Clubs across the globe were included on the ballot for the consideration by the panel. 150 were recognized. 42 honorees are from the United States – with 29 receiving Platinum Club of the World designation and 13 receiving Honorable Mention.
The Poinsett Club is the only South Carolina city club to make the list.
While this year marks the inaugural list, rankings will be awarded every two years. The Poinsett Club has been named a Platinum Club of America for five consecutive ranking periods.
According to Brent Reeder, the Poinsett Club’s general manager, “Our peer city clubs across the country – voted on by the general managers and presidents of each club – already know the Poinsett Club’s reputation. It’s an honor to now be recognized globally for our member offerings, our service, and our tradition.”
“Since its founding in 1935, the Poinsett Club has been a focal point for social, business, and philanthropic activity in the Greenville area. Now we get to share that legacy on an international stage. As the Upstate continues to become a North American home for companies across the globe, we can play our part and welcome them to Greenville,” added 2017 Poinsett Club Board of Governors president Ed Zeigler.
