GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 7, 2018) – Fluor’s Golf for Greenville charity golf tournament raised a record $670,000 for three Upstate charities it was announced today following the conclusion of the 29th annual event. The tournament was played at four of The Cliffs golf courses – Glassy, Keowee Vineyards, Keowee Falls and Mountain Park – by more than 450 participants.
The 2018 charity recipients include The Greenville Free Medical Clinic, Goodwill of the Upstate & Midlands and Make-A-Wish South Carolina. Proceeds from the tournament will allow for the purchasing of new ophthalmology equipment for the Greenville Free Medical Clinic, purchasing an 8,000 square foot building in Greenville to serve as Goodwill Industries’ Youth Services Campus and granting the wishes of Upstate children suffering from life-threatening medical conditions for Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“We’re proud to team up with these three incredible agencies as they work to address some of the most pressing needs in the Upstate of South Carolina,” said Fluor’s Brittany Heusgen, who served along with Ronald Jackson as Chairpersons for Golf for Greenville. “These agencies provide a wide variety of services to those in need, and the proceeds from this year’s tournament will help fund projects that will make a difference in our community for years to come.”
A team of more than 120 Fluor volunteers contributed thousands of hours to organize and operate the tournament. Since its inception in 1989, Fluor’s Golf for Greenville charity golf tournament has raised more than $5.7 million for charities in the greater Greenville area.
